INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION (ISSRO)/SPACE RESEARCH IN INDIA (SPEECH / EASSY ...)

           The Indian Space Program was started in 1972, with the establishment of Space Commission and the Department of space.  The main objectives of out Space Research is Self reliance in space technology for the development of the nature.  The Indian Space Research organization Undertakes Planning, execution and management of Space Research activities.



     The major establishments under the department of space are(1) Vikram Sarabhai space centre, Thumba (2) Sri Harikota Range (SHAR).  (3) Space Research Centre, Thumba and (4) Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad.

        On 19, April 1975, India's first scientific satellite, began orbiting the earth.  It was named after the great Indian Astronomer and mathematician of the fifth century, "Aryabhatta".  The Indian satellite Bhaskar I and Bhaskar II were also launched with the help of Soviet Vehicles.  India enterned the domestic satellite communications era with the launch of the APPLE (Ariane Passenger Pay load Experiment) INSAT-I satelliete is meant for domestic telecommunications, meteorological, earth observation and data relay, nation wide radio and TV programe distribution through terres trial transmistters INSAT-IB revolutionized the countries mass communication meterology and telecommunication networks.  India is the third Asian Country to have it own satellite.

          

    

Agni

  India became the first developing nation in the world when it launched its first Indian Remote sensing satellite (IRS-IA) in 1988.  In 1984, India sent a man into the space in Soyuz I-II along with two Soviet cosmonauts.  It became the 14th nation that have sent a man into the space.  India took steps for building its own satellite launch vehicles.  The four stages, solid propellant SLV-3, during its three successful flights in 1980, 1981 and 1983, orbited Indian-built Rohini series satellites.  In 1989 India became the 6th nation in the world capable of making Intermediate range ballistic missies (IRBM). It successfully launched two missiles named  "Agni" and "Prithvi", during this year.
