The Indian Space Program was started in 1972, with the establishment of Space Commission and the Department of space. The main objectives of out Space Research is Self reliance in space technology for the development of the nature. The Indian Space Research organization Undertakes Planning, execution and management of Space Research activities. The major establishments under the department of space are(1) Vikram Sarabhai space centre, Thumba (2) Sri Harikota Range (SHAR).
